When you walk through the French doors, the sparkling chandeliers, antiqued mirrors, French inspired furniture, beautiful seasonal decorations and the rich aroma of the French chocolate cakes baking in the oven immediately greets you. She offers an incredible lunch of ‘The Best Quiche You Will Ever Have’, homemade soups, salades, sandwiches, even a true French Croque Monsieur (Fall menu only). Behind the kitchen window, master bakers gently sieve non-bromated flours from Vermont, aluminum-free baking powders & sugars and large pots of French & Belgian Chocolate melting on the stove. Gwendolyn and her shop have received many awards & recognition. Before opening her shop, she won ‘Best Cake’ at London’s Cake & Bake Show at the Earls Court Convention Center for her chocolate cake, she was awarded 2nd place in Valrhona’s ‘Show us Your Chocolate’ by judges Florian Bellanger & Jaques Torres, and Martha Stewarts American Made showcased her Cherry Pie.

Gwendolyn’s Mint Chocolate Chip Cake has been chosen by Oprah Winfrey to be featured on her famous ‘O’ List in the April edition of ‘The Oprah Magazine’. Her shop was awarded ‘Best of the Midwest-2017’ by Midwest Travel Magazine, the winner for ‘Best Bakery’ in Indiana by Indy’s A-List’ 2017 & 2016. Gwendolyn partnered with Kroger Stores and opened a Cake Bake Shop in their newly remodeled market in Carmel, her eclairs were featured at Le Meridian Hotel, and her cakes have been featured on the menu of St. Elmo Steakhouse.
Gwendolyn has had articles written about her in Tea Time Magazine, Midwest Living, Sophisticated Living, Indianapolis Monthly, Indianapolis Star- multiple times, was featured in Go Midwest Magazine and has appeared on Hallmark’s Home & Family, Fox 59, RTV6, Eat Drink Indy and the Smiley Morning Show.
Her talents have earned her national attention from many celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Paula Deen (her 70th birthday cake), Matt Damon, Jim Carrey, Ina Garten (also her 70th birthday cake), Steve Martin, Martin Short, Garth Brooks, Tricia Yearwood, Academy Award winning Mahershala Ali, T.J. She has even walked the runway to help raise money for ‘Dress For Success’, helping place women in the workforce.

Gwendolyn just finished working with Lenox for her own line of fine china designed exclusively for the Cake Bake Shop. French rolling pins are available for sale, they are made for her in Dorset, Vermont. ‘Pixie Glitter’ (TM) & ‘Champagne Glitters’ (TM) are Gwendolyn’s new items that she will offer to all of her customers, available in custom made pretty pink jars. She has her own wine label ‘Doberge’ which is sold exclusively in her shop and has a line called Silver Celebrations London, designed with her design partner Vivi in London, that designs silver candle holders for cakes. All items Gwendolyn makes are available for all of her customers.
Gwendolyn is now working on opening her second Cake Bake Shop, opening Fall of 2018 in Carmel City Center.

Dear Gwendolyn – the baby shower was great fun and your cake was fabulous!! No one had the heart to cut into it because it was so beautiful. But, when I finally sliced and served it, the response was a unanimous one- best chocolate cake ever!! It was just delicious, and the frosting was so light that no one left a drop on their plate.
