Our custom porcelain pie dishes are made in Mehun-sur-Yèvre, France. Each dish is hand made with the Cake Bake Shop logo in gold and soft pink applied in the center of each dish. These dishes will create a perfect pie and will last for generations. Photos show the making of our custom mold and each dish is poured by hand. Gwendolyn's custom pie dish is 10" in diameter with a beautiful gold & pink Cake Bake Shop logo.
Pillivuyt has been producing fine culinary porcelain in the heart of France for nearly two centuries. Founded by the Pillivuy family in 1818, the factory is now employee owned and operated near the town of Mehun-sur-Yevre.
Gwendolyn personally visited the factory. She is the only other visitor from the United States other than the company Williams-Sonoma to tour the Pillivuyt factory. Her Cake Bake Shop logo is hand applied to each piece which makes each and every cake stand special.
Gwendolyn had these custom pie dishes made for the perfect pie.French cooks have used a deep porcelain pie dish as opposed to a glass or metal because porcelain conducts heat gently and evenly and is easy to clean.
Gwendolyn's dish is also useful for other foods that require a deep dish.
